The standard we hold ourselves to

Anyone can claim to be careful. This page sets out what careful means at CN Fans in enough detail that you can check whether we keep to it.

Who signs the work

We attach a person to every article on purpose. It means a mistake costs the writer something, which is the strongest quality control a site this size has.

Yuki Harada, Digital consumer and fan culture writer. Yuki Harada grew up following anime and game releases from both sides of the Pacific, and started writing buying guides when she noticed how few of them were honest about what shipping and customs actually cost. She covers fan culture, online retail, and the gap between what merchandise looks like in photos and what arrives at your door.

Liang Wei, Chinese platforms and merchandise researcher. Liang Wei spent three years sourcing official and licensed merchandise directly from Chinese manufacturers, then shifted to writing about it after too many buyers asked him the same questions. He focuses on platform reliability, price comparison, and the practical side of buying goods that do not have a straightforward return policy.

Maya Chen, Fan community and online retail writer. Maya Chen moderated a large gaming fan forum for four years before turning her product knowledge into consumer guides. She covers everything from in-game purchases to licensed collectibles, and writes with the assumption that the reader has already been burned by one bad purchase and is trying to avoid a second.

How a draft is built

  1. Draft from experience, not from a page of search results.
  2. Underline every claim that rests on memory rather than a source.
  3. Support it or lose it. Each underline is backed by something we can name, or it comes out.
  4. A cold read by a second person catches the confident guesses the writer stopped seeing.

How we date articles

The date on an article is the date it was published. When a change alters the advice, we update the modified date and say what changed. Cosmetic edits do not reset the date, because pretending a page is fresher than it is helps nobody.

What we will not publish

  • Claims about outcomes that nobody can verify.
  • Content produced only to fill a keyword slot.
  • Recommendations we would not give a friend who asked in person.

Where money enters

Yes, some outbound links pay. What they pay for is the hosting bill, not the wording of the assessment sitting next to them.

When a partner leans on us to bury a negative line, we keep the line and the email. The leaning tells readers something the original page could not.

What earns a page

We do not plan an editorial calendar. Articles appear when a question has come up often enough to be worth answering properly.

Corrections

Write to info@cnfanspurchasing.com with the page address and what is wrong. Factual errors are fixed quickly. If the correction changes the conclusion of a piece, we add a short note at the foot of the page rather than quietly editing it.
